My shift had just ended and I was quite ready to head home for the evening but the clouds were so dramatic I couldn’t resist taking a brief walk around the town of Charleston to see what I could spot. After strolling around for a while I finally came across this view from under Interstate 64/77 and at that point I knew I had found the place I had been looking for. A raised four lane highway nearly 50 feet in the air is quite a sight when you are standing underneath it, though while driving on top it would never seem to be this far off the ground.

There are three factors that greatly determine the exposure of a digital photo and they are as follows:
ISO
When it comes to digital photography the term ISO basically translates to how fast your cameras sensor can collect the light coming in through the lens.
Shutter Speed
The amount of time that the shutter is open.
Aperture
The size of the opening in the lens that light is allowed to pass.
All three of these factors are crucial to the quality of the your shot and they need to be thoroghly understood. These three factors are considered the “Exposure Triangle” . More to come…
